ALERTS

DEBIT CARD ALERT...
We are experiencing an unusual amount of fraudulent debit card and ATM transactions originating from California. In an attempt to control these fraudulent transactions, we will be blocking all debit card and ATM transactions originating from California. Please contact us immediately if this creates undue hardship for you.

SECURITY ALERT...
Criminals have launched a major e-mail campaign to deploy the infamous ZeuS Trojan e-mail, which will send spam messages disguised as fraud alerts from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Twitter account hijack warnings, or salaciousYoutube.com videos.

The fraudulent IRS e-mail uses the verbiage "NOTICE OF UNDERREPORTED INCOME" as the Subject Line and encourages the recipient to click a hyperlink to review their tax statement. All of the latest e-mails use a variety of URL shortening services.

IDENTITY THEFT...
WE WILL NEVER SEND EMAILS
asking you to provide, update or verify your personal or account information, such as passwords, User ID's, Social Security Numbers, PIN's, Account Numbers, Check Card Numbers or other confidential information.

Welcome!

The e-mails appear to be sent from various "@ fdic.gov" e-mail addresses, such as " protection @ fdic.gov," "admin @ administration.fdic.gov," or "service @ admin.fdic.gov." They have various subject lines such as "Update for your banking account," "ACH and Wire transfers disabled," and "Banking security update."

These e-mails and links are fraudulent and were not sent by the FDIC. Recipients should consider these e-mails an attempt to collect personal or confidential information, or to load malicious software onto end users' computers. Recipients should NOT access the link provided within the body of the e-mails and should NOT install any related files or software updates.

Financial institutions and consumers should be aware that these fraudulent e-mails may be modified over time with other subject lines, sender names, and narratives. The FDIC does not directly contact bank customers, nor does the FDIC request bank customers to install software upgrades.

Information about counterfeit items, cyber-fraud incidents, and other fraudulent activity may be forwarded to the FDIC's Cyber-Fraud and Financial Crimes Section, 3501 North Fairfax Drive, CH-11034, Arlington, Virginia 22226, or transmitted electronically to alert@fdic.gov. Notice of Changes in Temporary FDIC Insurance Coverage for NonInterest-bearing Transaction Accounts:
All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTAs). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts and money market accounts.
For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
